Mrs C Swift
Welcome to Year 2
In Year 2, learning takes place through exciting topics and practical activities and children are encouraged to learn and think independently.
For more information about our learning, please see the class newsletter and the Curriculum page of our website.
Throughout the year, we will be teaching about Revelation, The Church, Celebration and Life in Christ. We aim to engage and equip our children with the knowledge, understanding, skills and belief to be good citizens within the local and universal community, drawing inspiration from Divine Revelation, including the whole world around them.
In Maths, we will take part in lots of practical activities to help us with our number work.
In English we will be looking at fiction, non-fiction and poetry and learning lots of grammar in order to make our writing amazing.

Please bring your reading book bag into school everyday.
Please read 3 times a week at home
Monday and Friday
White t-shirts, black shorts and pumps. Please provide plasters if your child wears earrings and cannot remove them themselves.
We pride ourselves on providing our children with imaginative and effective opportunities for learning through a broad range of experiences.
'Super Learning Days' are days where learning takes place outside of the normal classroom model. We come dressed for the outdoors and explore and learn about our environment.
Super learning days address specific areas of the curriculum: Understanding the World and Physical Development for example we plant seeds and watch them grow, we hatch chickens, create mudslides, build bug houses etc so the children are learning whilst having fun.
As a result, our children demonstrate greater engagement and enjoyment in their curriculum as they are encouraged to become independent, engaged and motivated, using the skills they have learnt as part of these days.
